BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION

Background checks are conducted:

• By walk-in only
• Tuesdays and Thursdays
• From 8am to 3:30 pm
• At the Champaign County Courthouse at 200 North Main St., Urbana. 

 
You will need to bring your current driver's license. 

You will need to provide a specific code to run the appropriate background check. ** If you do not know the code, consult the agency requiring your background check. You can also find a list of codes here: Background Check Reason Codes.

BACKGROUND CHECK FEE SCHEDULE

(effective January 1, 2025) ​

• We accept credit cards and debit cards.
• BCI state background check fee: $40.00
• FBI background check fee: $40.00
• Both (BCI and FBI CHECK) fee: $80.00
